Are chips fried or baked?
All retail chips are fried. However, for restaurants, we offer raw pre-cut chips available to order directly from distributors.
Where are La Fortaleza products made?
All La Fortaleza products are made at our facilities in East Los Angeles.
Are flour tortillas made with milk and/or lard?
Our flour tortillas do not contain any dairy nor animal products. Our flour tortillas are made with shortening instead.
Is there wheat, rye, barely, or oats in corn tortillas?
No, there are is no rye, barley, nor oat ingredients in our corn tortillas.
Are wheat flour tortillas produced on the same line as corn tortillas?
No, our corn production lines are dedicated to corn production only. Wheat and flour tortillas are made on dedicated lines. We have strict guidelines to prevent from any cross-contamination occurring.
Is wheat used in any way to make corn products?
No, there are no wheat ingredients nor incidental wheat present in our corn products nor on the lines that produce corn products.
Whats the difference between a wrap and a flour tortilla?
Wraps are typically larger than flour tortillas and come in a variety of flavors.
Are La Fortaleza flour tortillas, wheat tortillas, or wraps gluten free?
No, our flour tortillas, wheat tortillas, and wraps are typically not gluten-free. They are made of wheat flour; and therefore contain gluten. However, our corn tortillas and chips are certified gluten-free.
Are La Fortaleza Products Kosher?
Yes, La Fortaleza products are all certified kosher.
Are La Fortaleza tortillas and chips vegetarian/vegan friendly?
Yes, our products are all vegan friendly.
